Breaking the Grip of Predatory Lending in Mississippi

Payday lending establishments in Mississippi charge a 572% interest rate for very short-term loans to low income people to help them cover their basic expenses until their next paycheck. This has the effect of sucking large amounts of income away from poor people and communities. We produced this video for the Mississippi Center for Justice to help them show the Jackson City Counsel, Mississippi Legislature and the public, the impact of payday lending on their state and to demonstrate some positive alternatives.
